This Week’s Contestant of the Week for November 8, 2019

Steve from Wheel of Fortune is this week’s Contestant of the Week. In a very ugly episode Steve started out slow in R1 w/ an instant dud of T then later in the same round right after he picked up the trip wedge to Italy HE IMMEDIATELY GIVES IT BACK TO A BANKRUPT contributing to a SEASON-WORST BANKRUPT TRASH. He doesn’t fare much better in R2 by calling an incorrect letter on the TD wedge, and it looked as though we were in serious trouble w/ nothing above the house minimum given away assuming both the opening tossups were solved, but R3 is where we pick things up… as Bill & Damian both dodged the bullet of an EXPRESS crash by declining to take the EXPRESS (both called duds after doing so) in a dud-filled round Bill clears himself of the ugliness to take his total from a pitiful $3K to a fat chunk of $28K in $ & prizes before adding another $2K to that in TTU2 & then after some more ugliness he rakes in another $7,600 to that total which is now $37,784. He then goes on to nearly double that after the producers at first didn’t credit him w/ making the solve causing him to make some wrong guesses after before the producers finally recognized that he made the solve, and now here’s why he’s this week’s Contestant of the Week… he became the new S37 leader w/ a final total of $74,784 in cash/trip winnings! Honorable Mentions: The semi-finalists of the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions which of course includes James Holzhauer & Emma Boetcher, although Teacher’s Tournament champion Francois Barcomb of New Paltz may prove to be a legitimate challenge to Holzhauer being the highest scorer of the semi-finalists; James & Michael also scoring BR wins along w/ Bill for a winning BR week on Wheel.
