WoF Quickcap: 3/20/2024

Midweek superhero fans…

Pamela Davis: married to Dave for almost seven years and have been together for 11 with five nephews and one niece ranging from ages 10 to 22 (she’s Aunt Pammy to them; when the youngest was starting kindergarten, the oldest was starting college) and big fan of how women are represented on Marvel whether or not they have a superpower or not from Sherman Oaks, CA

Melinda Smith (she’s wearing attire that has all sorts of superheroes): married to Phillip with an 11-year-old named Grayson (she pretended to do a Marvel bedroom for him but it really was for her since she did all the decor and picking) who’s favorite character is Ms. Marvel but if she could be anybody it would be Mystique since shape-shifting is key from College Park, MD

Berto Borroto: Disney cruise guy (that’s his Disney dream) who came to California to escape a little bit of the cold and hopefully get some cold hard cash from Minneapolis, MN

FINAL SCORES
Melinda: $11,300 MDW | Berto: $21,917 cash & cruise (his Disney dream came true!) WC | Pamela: $4,500

GRAND TOTAL: $37,717
NO BANKRUPT TRASH!

Scary moments

-In the opening Toss-Up…

T I C _ _ T
W _ N D O W

Melinda blanks out…

T I C _ E T
W _ N D O W

…and she said the answer after time was called on her, allowing Pamela to solve.

-We got an incorrect letter on the mystery wedge for the second Wednesday.

-In the second Triple Toss-Up…

_ _ _ _ _ G
_ _ T _ _ _

Pamela realizes it can’t be TAKING CONTROL.

-In the next one…

T A K _ N G
_ / _ E _ _

Pamela’s guess of TAKING A LEAD is grammatically incorrect even though it fits. Then…

T A K _ N G
_ / S E _ _

Berto can’t get the last word.

-We were so close to having a $6K Final Spin which would’ve helped the spinner Melinda win the game and take her MDW to the BR, but it doesn’t end up mattering since Pamela solves the Speed-Up instead.

VILLAINOUS TRIO: PHRASE/THING/WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

$100K Bonus RoundWE ARE IN A HURRY to give away this amount to Berto

…AFTER THE $100K WAS LOST ON MONDAY, HE’S THE THIRD GRAND PRIZE WINNER OF THE SEASON!!!!! NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL A SUPER WIN!!! WTG, sir!

Berto’s Final Total: $121,917 cash & cruise

NEW GRAND TOTAL: $137,717

My Rating: 9 (A-) (if only Melinda made it to the BR instead…)

Ismael’s Rating: 6 (D+)

JACKPOT!!5d6e720c6f24eb16e04bb365

Despite the incorrect letter on the mystery wedge (yes, I am firm on this).

The win was unfortunately SPOILED in the promos.

  1. The Main Game was great, except of course for the wasted MDW by Melinda. Berto, however, was the day’s real Superhero as he became our week’s second $100K winner after yesterday’s J! ToC second place runner up…and a,so prevented the Evil Sweep! Way to go, Berto! By the way, although he cannot claim CONTESTANT OF THE WEEK, he certainly is on the roster for HONORABLE MENTIONS on Friday!

Bobby’s Rating – same as JL’s at 9 of 10 (Majority Winning Show)

ELSEWHEREJoe Bastianich was exposed as THE MASKED SINGER; Bhanu was quickly shown the door on SURVIVOR; and ladies Abbie and Christa share $20K in GUY’S GROCERY GAMES.

FINAL COUNT – our only car in a Bonus Game (Low SC), 2 DDs, 1 F!, the cruise, the $20K Vault In with the BD, the Any # Piggy, and $100K.

BLOOD COUNT – 6 cars (incl. the Luxury Game and the High SC sacrifice, way more lost than won)—officially a Car Shutout, 1 DD, 2 F!s, and a potential $162K+ in C & P.

Statistics show our Griffin shows were our Major Winning Shows today, LMAD went split, and TPIR lost…big time.

So now $100K loser Cairo (from yesterday’s game) gets his Get Out Of Jail Free Card, while Cynthia (today’s big TPIR loser) is now on “death watch” for ZONK CONTESTANT OF THE WEEK, pending what happens here the rest of the week.

Sorry I’m late with these end of day results…busy day for me, but a day of loss and triumph for Hump Day. Congrats again to Berto for his huge win!

Our CBS shows done for the week due to March Madness, the rest of our games (incl. NEXT LEVEL CHEF) continue later today. Be with us then!

    1. FINAL UPDATE #2 – Thanks to Christopher Morris (my buddy!) for pointing out on Bobby’s site that Chris & Mary was the 2nd team to be eliminated from this week’s THE AMAZING RACE.

  2. wow, that’s the second week this season we had a 1-1 in a $100K land sonce the Home for the Holidays week. FYI, the former loss was exactly years since Barry and Scott respectively won $100Ks on 2010 and 2021.
