Tonight’s celebs
Austin Creed, WWE Superstar a.k.a. Xavier Woods and gamer playing for Gamers Outreach, a charity that empowers hospitalized families through play
Kate Flannery, actress and singer playing for Philabundance, one of the biggest and best food banks in Philadelphia for people suffering from food insecurity
Steve Agee, actor who starred in Peacemaker, a spin-off of the James Gunn movie The Suicide Squad, with John Cena who played the titular character (Peacemaker); they just finished Season 1 and are waiting to shoot Season 2; he’s playing for Make-a-Wish, a charity that helps fulfill the wishes of children with a critical illness between ages 2.5 and 18

Game 1

Final G1 Scores: Kate: $7,800/Steve: $20,350/Austin: $28K

G1 GT: $56,150
G1 Bankrupt Trash: $10,500 + MDW

Scary moments

-Ugly R1 w/ a BANKRUPT near $2,500 taking $5,100 from Austin and too many duds.

-R2 was worse w/ the other BANKRUPT wiping away $5,400 and MDW from Kate, and then…

D O E S
S U P E R S T A R
_ E N D R I _ _ / L A _ A R
P L A Y / G U I T A R

Steve BOMBS OUT w/ B to throw away $4,450 and his own MDW — KENDRICK LABAR?! -__- We got a $0 puzzle win (+ $10K bonus) as a result (Austin’s father’s advice when he asked him what do to).

-In R3, Austin calls a CRITICAL DUD of L for loss of turn to lose $6,850 + the $20K bonus, and he, too, loses his MDW (But he still won this half).

OH NO, IT’S THAT DREADED TRIO: WAYD?/PHRASE/THING

$100K Bonus Round: Austin isn’t BREAKING THE BANK for $75K.

Game 2

Final G2 Scores: Austin: $68,350 MDW ($96,350 so far)/Others: $5K each ($30K min.)

G2 GT: $78,350
G2 Bankrupt Trash: $6,050

Scary moment

-In R1, Austin calls yet another CRITICAL DUD of B to put $14,800 at risk, but it didn’t matter though as he solved after his opponents’ penalty spins.

Next round-up of categories: EVENT/WAYD?/THING

MILLION DOLLAR BONUS ROUND #4: Austin was literally OVERTHINKING IT over there w/ those silly guesses even though most of it was right there in front of him (UGH. -__-). Please don’t tell me he just blew an easy million to trigger that bad occurrence for the second week in a row…

…not even close. It was $50K.

$1M LOCATION: E in AMERICA’S (10 spaces away)

OBIT: Jerry Lee Lewis

He was known as a founding pioneer and original wild man of rock ‘n’ roll w/ a very troubled life, but today, Jerry Lee Lewis, passed away at the age of 87 at his home in Mississippi due to natural causes.

One of his most famous songs “Great Balls of Life” has been mentioned as a WoF puzzle numerous times on the show (the most recent use was on March 25, 2021 under Song Lyrics; the puzzle that night was “GOODNESS GRACIOUS, GREAT BALLS OF FIRE!”).

May he Rest In Peace.

Contestant of the Week for October 24-28, 2022

Well, this was already decided on Sunday when this game show week was only two hours old, as Joel Madden from Sunday’s Celeb WoF episode playing for “Ink Masters” gets the rare honor of being both Contestant of the Week and Zonk Contestant of the Week. The latter is because…

…ARE YOU KIDDING ME — HE’S THE SECOND $1M LOSER ON THIS VERSION OF THE SHOW!!!!!

WOW. JUST WOW. 😖 But here’s why he also gets awarded w/ the former — He rebounded in the second bonus round w/ a $100K win (and the showrunners were nice enough to shower the confetti and streamers this one time after what had happened in the first half) for a final charity of $198,250! What a way to bounce back!

Honorable mentions:

-That same primetime Sunday, Celebrity J! had its FIRST-EVER CLEAN SWEEP w/ the six Daily Doubles and all the FJ! correct responses! Also, the three celebs entered FJ! w/ a combined score of 68K despite all those incorrect responses and Coryat lost to incorrect responses!

-Simon Hernandez on Wednesday’s TPiR episode won a car in Cover Up, then became the first $26K SCSD bonus winner this season and then won his showcase for a final total of $92,932 cash & prizes becoming the biggest regular-play winner this season outside of Dream Car Week.

-Winning MR week on 25 Words or Less.

Dishonorable mentions:

-The maingames in the syndicated portion of this week of Wheel left a lot to be desired.

-My tip to any future contestant on TPiR contestant playing Pay The Rent — When the first item approaches $4 or $5, just take the $1K bailout. Had Darwin Browne followed that tip in this past Thursday’s playing, he could’ve avoided triggering the game’s FIRST-EVER TOTAL TRAINWRECK to lose out on a potential $168,237 cash & prizes.

-R1 wipeout on Thursday’s 25 Words episode.

-Erik & Ann were the first team this season on 25 Words or Less Friday to automatically get K.O.’d in Round 2 after missing the yellow medium difficulty word of DRIVEWAY worth 500 points, meaning Sonny & Alex did not have to play in this round.

-Low SCs swept the week for the first time this season.

-We had not only our first car game skunk on LMaD this season, we also had a TOTAL CAR SKUNK as only one car was offered in the Big Deal and it was lost.

-Okay, here were the scores after Game 1 of the Finals round in this week’s Second Chance Tournament — Rowan Ward (30K), Sadie Goldberger (4,800) & Jack Weller (3,400). Scores going into FJ! — Jack: 29,400/Rowan: 20K/Sadie: 5K. Jack needed to be right on FJ! and for Rowan to be wrong in order to win after wagering at least 5K but no more than 19,399 (Andy Saunders erroneously said 17,999 for the maximum bet) to at least guarantee second should Rowan be correct and/or Jack is incorrect. Well, bad news for him was that this brutal FJ! clue was a TRIPLE STUMPER, but what does he do? Instead of guaranteeing $10K more in this scenario by limiting his wager to that maximum to finish second over Sadie Goldberger, he FOOLISHLY WAGERS EVERYTHING AND BUSTS OUT TO NOTHING (along w/ Sadie), so it is instead Sadie who takes the silver based on the Game 1 scores — Jack, what were you thinking man?! Did you even pay enough attention to the format of the tournament or how these games even work?! -___- Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, he came up w/ a dumb answer of “Meese” (instead of “Moose”) in the category of “Plurals That Don’t End In ‘S’” on Tuesday’s show.
