WoF Quickcap: 11/30/2022

WOF_40

We are on the SKUNKED 🎖Veterans Week🎖 set.

Vets looking for a salute
Stan Kosmoski, an Army vet who used to be a military broadcaster like Pat married to Mary Anne for 44 yrs. from Tampa, FL
Lula Castaneau, a Marine vet who got a shooting medal from Torrance, CA
Sonia Magwood Morales, an Air Force vet who was a service apprentice specialist and Airman 1st Class from Queens, NY

Final Scores: Sonia: $35,607 cash & prizes MDW/Stan: $15,100/Lula: $2K

GT: $52,707
NO BANKRUPTS!!!

Scary moments

-In R1…

C A N _ _ E _ / ON / A
_ _ R T _ _ A _ / C A _ E

Lula gets DQ’d for saying the singular form of the first word not noting the blank space after the E. And then…

C A N D L E S / ON / A
_ _ R T H D A _ / C A _ E

Sonia goes on much to our dismayand pays the piper for it w/ a LaT to leave $3,050 behind.

BR categories: EVENT/PHRASE/THING

Please don’t tell me she’s about to pull a Kristen Andrews… -___-

The maZDa CX-50 is in play in addition to the million.

MILLION DOLLAR BONUS ROUND #3: Because solving the bonus round puzzle and not making the dreaded mistake of picking THING was such A VAGUE CONCEPT for Sonia we have our FIRST TAPING-DAY WASHOUT this season and

…she loses the $40K.

$1M LOCATION: *** (all the way across)

My Rating: 6 (D+) (Sonia’s selection of THING brought it down for me; also dreadful R1)

Unfortunately, that is our thirteenth car shutout of the season. Sonia will be sweating tomorrow if the BR was won.

Today’s set: 🍲Fabulous Food🍲

Extra set of foodies looking to give us a treat
Gina Gonzalez-Scallon, a married lady to Sean for six years (they’ve known each other since they were 14 and fell in love at 25) w/ an almost-2 y/o son from L.A. (born & raised in Long Island and she’s representing Puerto Rico where her dad was from (and a lot of her family still lives there)) (she has recently purchased a WoF board game)
Claire Person, a special ed teacher (she has just started her seventh yr.) married to Lolan for 8 years w/ two sons from Lodi, CA (located in Wine Country where there are a ton of wineries and delicious wine, and she partakes w/ family & friends)
Adrian Weaver, a real estate broker and musical theater performer (he had to pick up a second job as a result of the pandemic) who used to be a competitive swimmer in MS and early HS from Merrillville, IN (Phi Ly mistakenly said Chicago, and YouTube CC misspelled it as Maryville although a Marysville, IN actually does exist) (his mom bought all the WoF games and he gives a shoutout to her and his big sister who is currently serving overseas in the Air Force)

Final Scores: Claire: $2K/Adrian: $17,750 cash & FL/Gina: $19,950 cash & C.R. WC

GT: $39,700
NO PENALTY SPINS!!!

Scary moments

-In R2, Claire calls an unfortunate dud of H to throw away $10,750 and chance at a million.

-We had this in the first triple toss-up…

_ A _ U _ A _ L _
C _ R _ Y / _ A _ R

Claire leaves out the “-LY” in NATURALLY not taking note of the space between the A and L.

Generic categories: THING/PLACE/PHRASE

BR car of the day: INFINITI QX50

$100K Bonus Round: Gina finds $50K (first such win this season) stowed away in AN OLD FARMHOUSE (pulled a Dave once again and encore from yesterday (last time that happened even though it was before that contestant was on this show was on Jan. 5-6, 2017) even though the WC was no good)!

Gina’s Final Total: $69,950 cash & C.R.

New GT: $89,700

No meal for Pat and Vanna to share, naturally, because it’s an AG week episode.

My Rating: 9 (A-) (sentiment might’ve played a role)

Unfortunately, that is our twelfth car shutout of the season.

This week’s theme: America’s Game II

We pick up right where we left off Friday on the set of the subpar 🏫College Week🏫.

Just like Friday we have two males among this trio of students who share knowledge on AMERICAN PRESIDENTS
Geronimo Parra (CSUEB), a senior majoring in biology w/ the concentration in microbiology and minoring in Spanish who is also part of the school’s orientation team (self proclaimed “O-Team”) welcoming new students and also a resident assistant (RA) for incoming freshmen (a job he describes as diverse) from Hayward, CA (he also says his favorite comedian is Gabrielle “Fluffy” Inglesias and gives a shoutout to “fluffy fluffy” people)
Quincy Howard (Georgia Tech), a sophomore majoring in industrial engineering pursuing Master’s who made a 4.0 GPA last semester and is involved in the National Society of Black Engineers and the African-American Student Union from Dublin, GA (he gives a shoutout to his parents who are here on the show and are both educators and had a little tussle over who gave him the skills to be here)
Mackenna Daum (UCSD), a sophomore majoring in biochemistry history on the pre-med track (and hoping to pursue anesthesiology someday through med school) who collects sheet music new & old and sang in her HS choir in all four years and kept a sheet of every song she ever sang to this day (she likes to sit down at her piano to try to play the songs and sing them to relive those memories) from West Hills, CA

Final Scores: Mackenna: $2K/Geronimo: $3K/Quincy: $35,750 cash & trips

GT: $40,750
NO BANKRUPTS!!!

Scary moments

Mackenna elects not to hop onto EXPRESS early on in the first spin…and unfortunately pays big time for it when a LaT forces her to leave behind $9,650. And then…

T R E E S / F I L L E D
W I T H / _ A N _ O E S

Geronimo FLUNKS OUT w/ a P for pitiful call after many close calls w/ the Wheel — PANGOES, sir?! No such thing as that. -__-

Geronimo wastes a buzz-in on the second triple toss-up because he was “kidding” — If you really did that to joke around and not just cover up for a failed Robert Santioli attempt… really, man? -__-

Generic categories: THING/PEOPLE/PHRASE

Today’s wheels in play: ’23 MINI Cooper 2dr. hardtop (Red w/ black stripes)

$100K Bonus Round: Quincy has stood out among these KIDS AT PLAY and drives off campus in the MINI Cooper 2dr. hardtop worth $33,850 (pulled a Dave).

Quincy’s Final Total: $69,600 cash & prizes

New GT: $74,600
