Contestant of the Week for December 5-9, 2022

Ben York is your Contestant of the Week winning $452,399 cash & prizes from the Press Your Luck holiday special on Tuesday! A completely different night from the awful Celebrity Wheel holiday special from that night.

Honorable mentions:

-Cris Pannullo concluded his 21-day $748,286 run Tuesday.

-Nicolette Saldano won an astounding $31,500 from five chips on Plinko, a regular episode record!

-We had some big maingame scores on this week’s first part of Disney Secret Santa, which included a cruise worth a whopping $17,800 (holy cow! 🤯) which is possibly the biggest Prize Puzzle prize ever given away in Wheel of Fortune history! We also have James Valletti’s $31,550 all-cash total and all of it came before R3! Although the rest of the week overall is not really worth talking about.

-Keynessa and Ondria are your Co-Superheroes of the Week.

Doug Roberts and Nick Beldoc are your Zonk Contestants of the Week losing their chances at $100K in $100K Pyramid.

Dishonorable mentions:

-How Monica Reasor made it through auditions for Friday’s Wheel episode without ever being at any Disney parks in her life is beyond me. It really showed w/ her gameplay. First we had this…

S _ L K
S H E E T
O F / _ _ E

She blows it w/ P for phooey — did she really think the last word would be IPE or PIE?! -__- And then in R3…

_ U N _ R E _ S / O _
P I C T U R E S

She goes on much to our dismayand the BANKRUPT near $650 snatches the $1,850 and WC. And Jordan Moss does the same on the other normal BANKRUPT to lose $1,150 — Not very well played, you two. -__- Kate Mock Elliott (who eventually racked up $48,132 cash & Disney vacations) does the same thing too although with nothing to risk unlike her opponents to go for the multiple D’s hoping for a bigger spin. Monica then repeats the T dud during a very long S-U round thus sealing her fate w/ a DESERVING $1K LUMP OF COAL and nomination for WORST CONTESTANT OF SEASON 40 WHEEL. Naturally after that, we were GRINCHED for the second time this season and first ever during Secret Santa.

-Jack Black may have made us laugh and kept us on the edge of our seats, but the Celebrity Wheel holiday special was AWFUL in nearly every aspect, and two of the easiest puzzles this season both went unsolved. It broke me personally and drained out my holiday spirit, so much so that I (along w/ Adam Alam) decided to stop watching for the season (& series if it’s not renewed for a fourth season; I’d be VERY surprised if it does get renewed). And yes, this has been by far the WORST & LEAST FUN SEASON of Celebrity Wheel and it’s not even finished yet, but I have zero confidence it will get better.

-Another painful week of LMaD. There were no skunkings, but we had three games (two car games) end in TOTAL TRAINWRECKSand we had our FOURTH INSTANCE OF AT LEAST TWO CONSECUTIVE BD KNOCKOUTS THIS SEASON on Monday & Tuesday (second week in a row for those respective days) and a THIRD ONE ON FRIDAY MARKING THE FIRST INSTANCE SINCE MAY 2020 WHERE WE HAD THREE BD KNOCKOUTS IN THE SAME WEEK.

-All the champions on J! following the end of Cris Pannullo this week all O&D’d out.

-Deon & Ellesa’s brutal playing of the Money Round on Thursday’s 25 Words episode where they only managed to get one word which effectively ended our bid for a perfect MR week after locking up a winning week Wednesday. We also had almost no luck w/ returning champions on that show this week also.

Even though we had James from Tuesday’s big R1-R2, Mindi & Corrine from Wednesday’s big R3 spin and triple T-U sweep, respectively, and Kate from Friday’s big Friday game incl. that MONSTER of a PP cruise, this wasn’t such a merry week.

🦨GRINCH THREAT #3🦨

FAMILY IS FOREVER whether or not any of these three could avoid falling on the Grinch trap
Kate Mock Elliott, a lady who wrote and starred in a one-woman show that was about the first 10 years of her marriage but comparing the Christmas card version to real life from Cincinnati
Monica Reasor, a lady who has NEVER been to any of the Disney parks in her lifetime from Gulfport, MS
Jordan Moss, a guy whose bar mitzvah theme was Jordan’s Magic Kingdom and his grandma made all the centerpieces out of Disney toys (those toys were donated to a local children’s hospital) from Carlsbad, CA

Final Scores: Monica: DESERVING $1K LUMP OF COAL/Jordan: $9,350/Kate: $48,132 cash & Disney vacations

GT: a whopping $58,482
Tonight’s Bankrupt Trash: $8,650 cash & GC + WC

Scary moments

-R2 was a COAL-FEST full of penalties such as a dud of R for rats on the MW near LaT (Just like we mentioned last Monday, you will have no decision to make) and this…

S _ L K
S H E E T
O F / _ _ E

Monica blows it w/ P for phooey — did she really think the last word would be IPE or PIE?! -__-

-R3 wasn’t much better…

_ U N _ R E _ S / O _
P I C T U R E S

Monica goes on much to our dismayand the BANKRUPT near $650 snatches the $1,850 and WC. And Jordan does the same on the other normal BANKRUPT to lose $1,150 — Not very well played, you two. -__- Kate does the same thing too although with nothing to risk unlike her opponents to go for the multiple D’s hoping for a bigger spin.

-S-U took way too long (we have our second week of full R4 S-Us this season), and way too much was wasted on the obvious along w/ a T repeat sealing Monica’s fate w/ the gooseegg.

GRINCH-Y FATE MOST LIKELY SEALED: THING/PHRASE/WAYD?

$100K Bonus Round: Kate is forced to put $40K (Pat dropped the envelope and it almost seemed like it was going to be the $100K) towards FIXING A LEAK, so we’ve been GRINCHED for the second time this season and first ever during Secret Santa — That was SCROOGEY of Bellamie & Co. right there (even though I had it w/ the A’s).
