J! Retro Quickcap: 🦃THANKSGIVING 2017🦃

Since today wasn’t a good day, here is tonight’s dishonorable mention.

Pilgrims gone huntin’
-Jesse Parks, a performance manager from Houston, TX
-Liz Schultz, a retired project analyst from Manchester, NJ

Blue-ombre-haired young lady who’s playing her role as the hunted turkey: Kiana Nakamura (2-day $26,700)

Correct/Incorrect: 36/9 (I believe that was the SEASON-WORST at least to date)
Rebounds/Rebound Attempts (all by Liz): 2/2

Unplayed Clues ($ left on the board): 4 ($5,400)

Coryat Score: a lousy $22,400 (-$800 vs. yesterday — Might’ve been the SEASON-WORST to date until 4/25/2018)
Lach Trash: still a whopping $16,200 from 17 triple stumpers (-$3,200 and +2 TS’s vs. yesterday)
Coryat lost to incorrect responses (less double-correct responses): $10,000 (+$1,000 vs. yesterday)

Daily Double Correct Answers: 0 (DDS #3)

And that, unsurprisingly, was our third Daily Double SKUNKING in the 34th season. This week really went down like turkey carcass.. -__-

Pre-FJ! Scores: Jesse: $7,800/Kiana: $6,900/Liz: $3,600 (Combined: a miserable $18,300)

Final Jeopardy! Correct Answers: 2

Winner: Jesse ($11,000)

Because Kiana didn’t wager enough over Jesse (all three of the players’ wagering strategies were out of whack here…) she would be taking home, after this debacle, $28,700. And then Jesse would O&D out the next day w/ $12K to secure a losing week for returning champions. Mostly UNTHANKFUL week after a promising Monday start which had a clean sweep and tight high-scoring match.

My Rating: 2 (F-)

Skipps’ Rating: 2 (F-) (at least we salvaged two correct FJ! responses)

Tuesday’s students who know a thing or two about REGISTERING FOR CLASS
Jonah Jodlowski (Northwestern Univ.),a junior studying computer science and doing classes in financial economics who won the best pitch for a product in the dating industry while taking an entrepreneurship class and is also part of a soccer club that hosts tournaments (all the money they collect is sent to charities in the Chicago area) from Telluride, CO
Gaby Weinwurzel (Univ. Of Maryland), a sophomore majoring in communication and public relations and member of Kappa Alpha Theta who claims to have missed only three questions on her SAT test from Brooklyn, NY
Sarah Spakes (Ouachita Baptist Univ.), a senior studying political science and public history who interned for a senator in D.C. (she’s also RA of the year and eats slowly) from Benton, AR

Final Scores: Gaby: $2K/Sarah: $21,950 cash & Barbados/Jonah: $5K

GT: $28,950
SEASON-WORST BANKRUPT TRASH: a whopping $21,500 cash & prizes

Scary moments

-In the $2K toss-up…

_ H _ _ R
_ _ _ E C _ _ R

SarahCHOIR TEACHER won’t work when the E and C are close together.

-R1 was hampered by BANKRUPTs (Gaby lost $1,600, Sarah SPAINfully lost $10K & trip, and Jonah lost $2,250), and then Gaby foolishly falls for the M trap — MART WHEEL?! -__-

-In R2, Sarah has ANOTHER PAINFUL BANKRUPT to watch $7,650 get flushed away. And to make matters worse, her score to this point ($1,100) was exactly how much we were only over the minimum after this, and when no one has a five-figure score after R3 that’s how you know we’re in serious trouble.

-First of the triple toss-ups where we’re “hitting” things…

_ I T T I _ G
_ H _ / _ _ _ K S

HITTING THE SOCKS, Gaby?! No way, girl. -__- She did realize too late the correct answer afterwards, though.

Generic categories: PERSON/PHRASE/THING

$100K Bonus Round: This YOUTUBER will be uploading a clip of Sarah WIPING OUT and losing the $40K as she failed to pull an Emil and Dave.

Stamp of Rejection v3
Painful BANKRUPTs destroyed this episode.

Unfortunately, that is our tenth car shutout of the season.
