TPiR Quickcap: 9/20/2022

The Price is Right logo

First Four Contestants: Ashley Mayra, Raynika Farmer, Paul Reyes & Cynthia Spinella
One Away: Paul ($641) Causes a TOTAL TRAINWRECK WIPEOUT (First time since May 28, 1990 and third time ever) (On the bright side, if it was That’s Too Much, you should’ve won) (Skipps’ Tip: Paul, I get that mark-ups have a significant impact on this current market, but just remember that it’s the ARP that we’re looking for here, and there ain’t no way a compact CUV such as the VW Taos is gonna start at $40K+. Just like what Jacqueline thinks that the Lincoln Mark VII is worth less than $30K+.)

Next Up: David Kim
Double Prices: Raynika ($998) Doubles Up (GT: $6,605)

Here Comes: Etta Moore
Plinko: Ashley ($3,690) Wins $1,000 with 3 Chips (GT: $4,765)

SCSD #1 Winner: Paul (Banked $1K – $1,641)
Dud Spins?: Yes (Ashley and Paul on the Bonus Spin)

Next Up: Jesus Villanueva
Shopping Spree: Cynthia ($1,955) Shops her way to Victory (GT: $10,484)

Next name on the List: Anderson Clayton
Pass the Buck: David ($520) Gets Nothing and a Car Wipeout

Final Player for Today: Courtney Berman
Range Game: Etta ($778) Lands her way in the Winning Range (GT: $9,293)

With That, The First Six called up on Stage

SCSD #2 Winner: Etta

Showcase Winner: Paul ($31,954)

Miscellaneous: This may be the first time that someone won the showcase despite wiping out on One Away.

  1. What a show this was…not the one we hoped for, obviously.

Both Car Games were total wipeouts from the very beginning, thus sealing up this season’s first DCL (Double Car Loss) here, the first time this season we had a Car Show Wipeout (all cars on the same show lost), and the season’s first CGW (Car Game Loss) among our majors, as Jeopardy! does not currently give away cars, and WHEEL gives away its cars only in the Bonus Round. And despite the preliminary reports of the center slot hit in Plinko, it was actually not (preliminary details at TPIR’s Discord channel were sketchy at the time the show aired on the East Coast). Low SC won again.

It now remains for tonight’s WHEEL to try to avoid our season’s first Daytime Car Wipeout.

As for Bobby’s rating – 3 of 10 (Losing Show, and on the verge of an opening Losing Week tomorrow).
