In this very busy week of game shows, the Lebonese dance troupe Mayyas are your Contestants of the Week as they were given a $1 MILLION PAYDAY from becoming the 17th America’s Got Talent champions!!!
Honorable mentions:
-Danny ($245.5K) & Sarah ($254.5K) split the $500K grand prize as winners of The Challenge USA.
-Dara Yu, after previously appearing on Season 1 of MasterChef Junior at the age of 12 as first runner-up, became not only the youngest finalist in MasterChef history but also the youngest MasterChef winner at the age of 20, breaking Whitney Miller’s record from Season 1 at 22. She collected the $250K grand prize and was the first chef to appear in the finale twice across any U.S. version of the show. She is also the second Asian-American winner after Christine Hà from Season 3.
-Barry Lander (1 vs. 100 U.S. Season 1 champion w/ $300K+) avoided being Whammied once on the Press Your Luck episode that was supposed to air 9/8 entered the Bonus Round w/ $86,435 cash & prizes and bailed from Level 4 w/ a final total of $243,783 cash & prizes!
-Ryan Zsiga on Wednesday’s Wheel episode cleaned up and went into the Bonus Round w/ $31,550 cash & linens ($21,550 from R1 alone) and was lucky enough to pick up the XL wedge and hang on to it to take it to the BR. And the result… He had been given the keys to the BMW X3 worth $51,540 plus the extra $40K courtesy of the XL wedge from drawing A ROYAL FLUSH BRINGING HIM OVER THE $100K MARK THE HARD WAY FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE APRIL 8, 2020 (Sorry, Dave), and that was an XL REBOUND FROM TUESDAY NIGHT’S XL DISAPPOINTMENT!!! Oh, and by the way, the last time a $50K+ value car was given away (according to Adam Alam on BaV) was in 2010 when a BMW Z4 was won.
-The male Brooke Richards enjoyed a similar outing on Friday’s Wheel episode heading to the BR w/ $35,700 cash & cruise (Again, $22,450 from R1 alone) and he also won that expensive BMW SUV via a buzzer-beater, only he didn’t have the XL wedge.
-Both Ryan and Brooke’s second-place opponents finished w/ $17K+.
-Sam Evans is this season’s first grand prize winner on $100K Pyramid despite missing the Mystery 7 in Round 2. She had accrued enough points to go to the Winner’s Circle and be the first $100K winner of this very young game show season overall.
-Kade Hamilton won $100K from becoming the 3rd winner of the current iteration of “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!”
-Tony de Guzman proved he was no season-ending fluke and brought his total 5-day winnings to $140,700 securing a spot in the 2023-24 Tournament of Champions right off the bat. However, he failed to sweep the week as he was defeated in his sixth game Friday.
Jennifer “Jen” Wright from Wheel of Fortune is your Zonk Contestant of the Week…

…BECAUSE SHE HAS ALREADY BECAME OUR FIRST $100,000 LOSER THIS SEASON ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AT DAY 2 since she did not call the F’s in DELICIOUS TAFFY. FURTHERMORE, THAT’S THE FIRST TIME THE BIG ONE WAS LOST ON PREMIERE WEEK SINCE S29. Man, did this really have to happen so early in the season?! -___-
Dishonorable mentions:
-Melissa Raub, despite winning the M7 in $100K Pyramid, lost out on $100K in the Bonus Round because she used an illegal clue for “Famous Piano Players” (the word “instruments” was added to Chopin, and was ruled a synonym).
-Ken Jennings got himself INTO HOT WATER with fans on Wednesday for allowing Luigi de Guzman to correct his phrasing from “it’s” to “who’s” before his otherwise correct response, yet ruling against Harriet Wagner’s own correction from “Angela Le Guin” to “Ursula Le Guin” when he already began ruling when she started making her correction.
-April Marquet on Tuesday intended to wager $14,801 in Final Jeopardy! as she took to Reddit, but it got MESSED UP due to a transcription error and she instead ended up wagering $1,801 which ended up costing her the win over Luigi de Guzman (That also triggered a rare instance where a challenger goes into FJ! in the lead and then getting the correct FJ! response but then losing to the returning champion due to not wagering enough). That big mistake also has gone VIRAL.
-Monique Nazario refused to hop onto EXPRESS…and that proved to be a mistake as she BANKRUPTs near $650 to let go of $4,250 on her very next spin, and plus Marsha Kempson hopped on her own chance at it and successfully completed the ride.
-We almost had an instant TRIPLE STUMPER on the 40th season premiere of Wheel as Rasheim Donaldson thought there were such a thing as “FUNNY SEASONS ON TELEVISION!” (No way, man.. -__-) not knowing that this show’s celebrating “FORTY SEASONS ON TELEVISION!“ This caused Pat to make the remark “Obviously, they paid no attention to us when we’re out there.”
-Ugly Wednesday episode of Wheel that saw nothing above the minimum (assuming both opening toss-ups were solved) given away after R2, and then we had this in R3…

Eric Sines BOMBS OUT w/ M — TOMERING WATERFALLS?! No way, dude. -__-
-Zovi Ortiz in R2 of Friday’s affair surprisingly risked her MDW for the $10K MW…Well, IT ACTUALLY WORKED OUT! But then she REPEATS THE L on her very next turn — UGH. -___- If it weren’t for her $1K toss-up solve after restarting, she would’ve been awarded a DESERVING(?) $1K GOOSEEGG by us right there.
