Okay, first off… Howard on Andy Saunder’s site Googled “French Blue” and AT LEAST FIVE different shades were shown. Prussian Blue had MORE THAN ONE shade as well. And I don’t think any of us has ever heard of French Blue. That said, I am very shocked & impressed that Courtney got this one correct. That is a VERY TERRIBLE CLUE by the writers and Alex is rolling in his grave over that one! 😡

Two Former WOF Contestants Set to Appear on $100,000 Pyramid

Two former WOF contestants are set to appear on $100K Pyramid next month — S35 alum Andrea Rycroft will appear next Wednesday, July 7th, while late-S33 alum Paul Reynolds is set to appear this Wednesday, June 30th.

Also, S34 Jeopardy! alum Rahul Gupta (1-day champion $12,399 + $2K) appeared on last night’s The Chase episode, and we are unsure if he appeared on the U.K. version of the show in 2014 as there was a contestant w/ that namesake who appeared on the U.K. version on July 15th, 2014. Natasha Baker-Bradley, who was the sole contestant who made it to the Final Chase & won, was also on Jeopardy! in 2017.

Austin departs with $14,900. I think this FJ! clue was a G.O.A.T. Tournament reject or ToC leftover, because that’s how tough this was.

Contestant of the Week for June 21-25, 2021

Liz, Diva & Greg from The Chase are your Contestants of the Week

…BECAUSE THEY SET A RECORD FOR BIGGEST PAYOUT FOR OUTRUNNING THE CHASER (James “The High Roller” Holzhauer in this case) OF $660,000!!!

Top honorable mention: (SPOILER ALERT)

Alex Trebek posthumously (& unsurprisingly) wins Best Game Show host in the 48th Annual Daytime Emmys, and Jeopardy! also won the honor for Best Game Show.

Other honorable mentions: The last time we followed a Double Over w/ a Double Showcase Win on TPIR was in March 16-17, 2010. Well Joel Davis on Firday’s episode did exactly that & redeemed from a partial missing out on a Chevy Spark LS in true DSW fashion (diff. of $28)!; Sandy Olive went on a two-day $52,200 run on Jeopardy! but lost her third game on an underwager in the third Daily Double; Brian Hollingsworth is also included in this list, for all the wrong reasons, because his $25K Punch-a-Bunch win (this pricing game’s first win in over 4 yrs.) ended up preventing an EL SKUNKO.

Brian & Natalie from TPIR are your Zonk Contestants of the Week, giving this show a dubious 15th Double Over this season.

Dishonorable Mentions: Agnes had two dud spins during Wednesday’s SCSD #1; Monday’s J! episode was a trainwreck — Not only did we have our sixth Daily Double skunking this season & a low combined Coryat score of a dismal $27,200, there were three clues for a total of $2,200 left on the board and a combined fifteen incorrect responses (not incl. Final), and ultimately Emily White’s impressive run ended on that day; I believe this is our third consecutive week w/ 4+ FFBC victims.
